Coastal Living

OK, fine, you're right, we don't live on the coast or in any other remote approximation of Coastal Living Magazine.

Nevertheless, we did make huge headway in developing our outdoor space this summer.  You really don't realize, after nearly 22 years in a place, that things have gone to hell in a handbasket right under your nose.

The driveway, before and after:

The back drive and Patio Nuevo, designed to accomodate our lives and our very small space, before and after:

I'm hoping that by the time I get back next week, the grass will be growing and we can start storing old pavers and adding more flowers!

Nice digs! Hell comes a lot closer a lot more quickly when you inhabit a space equivalent to a handbasket, as we do. We have perfected the graceful and delicate "Dance of Avoidance."

Wow, That looks Great! You've done a very nice job. Now, could you please come and fix mine? :o) Just kidding!
I totally understand how it gets away from us. Seems like just yesterday it looked perfect.
Have a great time, and stay safe.

It looks great.  I'm glad to see someone else who lives so close to another home and still attempts to make an oasis for themselves.  Good job.

You do live on the coast or very close to it but you're right, it probably isn't what the readers or editors of the magazine have in mind.

Your new patio and driveway are beautiful!    I well know about houses going to hell in a handbasket and it's only been 13 years for us.    I need to get going on some projects -- driveway and front porch especially.

this is the kind of stuff that's hard to spend money on, but it looks so great!   I love brick houses too.   You'll love to spend time on the patio, I'm sure.

Looks fabulous. I bet it feels that good, too, just to get something completed.

Looks awesome!  Our landscape has pretty much deteriorated as well....we are going to solicit some bids from some landscape architects as well for things like retaining walls, sprinklers, etc.  Sometimes our house/property feels more like a money pit than a place of peace and refuge.

Very nice. Looks like it could go into Coastal Living. Gosh, I love that magazine.

Wow...I'm impressed, but I have to tell you, these before and after pics are wreaking havoc with my ability to procrastinate on repairs that I badly need to make to my own abode...
